This is a Deanery intiative for families and visitors over the Norfolk who want to explore!
There are Eco angels at churches all over the Deanery.(see the map) Our Eco angel is Ted Ellis, the Norfolk naturalist who championed nature reserves and the saving of precious Norfolk habitats long before it became fashionable. He was born in 1910 and his legacy to Norfolk, along with numerous files on Norfolk biodiversities is Wheatfen Broad, the Nature Reserve at Surlingham.
Ted actually came to Horstead as he was very interested in some areas, in particular the chalk pit cuttings into the river. He came with the Norfolk Biodiversity team in 1969 and our new Horstead Environmental group (part of the PCC) hope to work on creating a database from these files so that we can track the changes in our landscape.
Also look for our Angel Trail inside the church!

Safeguarding

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Benefice Safeguarding Officer (BSO). Our Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our BSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the BSO
Mrs. Sheena MacRonald, our Safeguarding Officer: 01603 890442 [email protected]
