Free Community Activity Days
The Horstead Centre and the Horstead Church Council (PCC) are delighted to invite readers of the Marlpit to the second in a series of four, free Community Activity Days on Thursday the 22nd of August from 10.30AM.
The Horstead Centre and the PCC have designed these activity days in collaboration with the Broads Authority. Together, we will provide opportunities for local people of all ages to come together to share our love of nature and our local area.
August’s event will explore the theme of Harvest and Natural Resources and will include physical activities, crafts and learning; focussed on our local area and natural resources.
• Foraging and wild camp cookery
• Salt dough modelling
• Make your own model boat and set sail in an afternoon boat race! *
• Rock climbing
• Fruit and veg and plant swap shop
• Engaging displays exploring the History of agricultural labour
• Hot and cold drinks and plenty of space for all
• Follow-up opportunities, for attendees to access outdoor activity coaching.
* All boats to be made from biodegradable, foraged, natural materials. These can be made on the day or made at home and submitted for entry in the race.
Join us.
The Horstead Centre and the PCC would like to hear from any local resident, club, or organisation who would like to promote their opportunities for local volunteers… or those who would like to run their own free activity or share their local knowledge on the day.

Safeguarding

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Benefice Safeguarding Officer (BSO). Our Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our BSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the BSO
