This is such a wonderful service! Unusually, it combines the timeworn depth of Evensong with the spirituality of singing Taizé chants. A remarkable blending that works really well: everything is prayer. We gather to worship in the more informal space in front of the St Nicolas's Medieval Rood Screen. The service follows BCP evensong, with chants where you would usually find hymns or the Magnificat and Nunc Dimmittis. There is also a reflection/talk and prayers, and a final hymn and blessing.

The chants are fairly easy to pick up as they are repeated many times; do feel free to sing the harmony if you prefer. We have a choir who sing with the congregation and who practice singing the chants before the service at 5:15pm.
