Good Friday: The Way of the Cross

Occurring
for 2 hours
Venue
Witham: St Nicolas
Address
Chipping Hill Witham Chelmsford, CM8 2JS, United Kingdom

I think this is the most powerful, moving service of the whole of the year. We come together as a community and walk the way of the Cross - the events that re-tell Jesus crucifixion. All around the church are images, the traditional Stations on large posters from vivid paintings by Sieger Köder. Different people offer a short, two minute reflection on each station, What do they see? How does it touch them? What does it means to them. Followed by prayer and silence. And then we move to the next station. Interpersed with traditional Good Friday Hymns. The service concludes with the haunting )recorded) music of a saxophone and a choir.
Not to be missed,
