Family Communion

for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue

Address
Whetstone Road Kidbrooke London, SE3 8PX, United Kingdom

Family Communion for Palm Sunday: celebrant the Revd Tola Abedjo.
First reading: Philippians 2.5–11
Second reading: Mark 15 (complete)

At this service we shall read the entire Passion narrative from Mark's Gospel dramatically, with members of the congregation speaking the words of the various characters involved. This is quite a challenging exercise, as some of us will have to take the parts of people whose actions are insensitive, callous or downright murderous. In the end, the various liturgies of Holy Week do demand self-examination, reflection upon our own less comfortable qualities and resolution to move away from them. The 'good news' of Christ is that we can indeed do so; every day is a new beginning, and no-one is defined by their past failings.
