Morning Prayer and Holy Rosary for the feast of St Francis of Assisi

Occurring
for 45 mins
Venue
St Michael & All Angels
Address
Northcote Road/Palmerston Road WALTHAMSTOW, LONDON., E17 6PQ, United Kingdom

Come and join us tomorrow 4 October at 10.00 a.m. for Morning Prayer and Holy Rosary, celebrating the feast day of St Francis of Assisi. He had a very chequered career up until his imprisonment in Collestrada, but after returning to his worldly life, he then decided to renounce it, joined the poor begging at St Peter's Basilica in Rome, and founded the Franciscan Order, with its brown habit and rope around the waist with three knots symbolising poverty, chastity and obedience. He called all creatures his brothers and sisters, and his Canticle of the Sun is paraphrased in the hymn 'All creatures of our God and King' (NEH 263). Francis was canonised in 1228.

St Michael & All Angels

St Michael and all Angels' is a friendly multicultural church located in the heart of Walthamstow, very close to the vibrant high street.

We are currently in interregnum at St Michael's but are looking forward to our new full-time priest very, very soon.

We would like to thank Fr. Alex Summers and his family for their hard work and for bringing the community together in the 6 years they were with us.

Please pop in and join us at one of our services. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram @stmichaelstow.

God Bless
