Come and join us this Sunday 26 March for our Parish Mass for Passion Sunday, the beginning of Passiontide. Following a very strange Old Testament reading from Ezekiel about the conversion of dried up bones into living flesh, the Gospel reading (John 11: 1-45) is that extraordinary account of the raising of Lazarus from the dead. It must have been seriously disturbing to those who witnessed it. The details of Lazarus' graveclothes foreshadow Jesus' own graveclothes - in Lazarus' case they are still wrapped around his body, but in Jesus' case they have been removed, with the sudarium (cloth binding the face) in a place by itself (John 20: 7). It is the proof if proof were needed that Jesus commands both Death and Life, and that however hopeless the situation seems to us, he is in control.

Don't forget that the clocks go forward one hour on Saturday 25th!! If you log on to the livestream at old 10.30 a.m. GMT it will already be 11.30 a.m. BST and the Mass will be over!!!
