Come and join us at Morning Prayer and Holy Rosary tomorrow, 29 November, at 10.00 a.m. either on the livestream or in person as we celebrate the eve of the feast of St Andrew, apostle and martyr. He was the brother of Simon Peter, lived at Capernaum and was a disciple of St John the Baptist before becoming an apostle of Christ. He is particularly mentioned for his share in the feeding of the five thousand and in the episode of the Greeks who wished to meet Jesus (John 12: 20-22). It is not certain where he preached the Gospel, where he died or even where he was buried. The most ancient tradition links him with Greece. His feast was universal from the 6th century AD and the university city of St Andrews in Scotland was reputed to be the place where his relics were translated in the 8th century AD. This is why Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland. The saltire cross (included in the Union flag) was associated with him from the 10th century.

St Michael & All Angels

St Michael and all Angels' is a friendly multicultural church located in the heart of Walthamstow, very close to the vibrant high street.

We are currently in interregnum at St Michael's but are looking forward to our new full-time priest very, very soon.

We would like to thank Fr. Alex Summers and his family for their hard work and for bringing the community together in the 6 years they were with us.

Please pop in and join us at one of our services. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram @stmichaelstow.

God Bless
