Calling all families with young children (0 - 7 years old)! Join us for a morning filled with fun, faith, and friendship at Wiggle Church held in the Parish Rooms on the first Sunday of the month, at 9:15 am.

Starting with croissants and coffee, the perfect fuel for an energetic morning of dancing, singing and activities. At 9:30 am, the Wiggle Church will start, a lively and engaging 30 minute service for 0-7 years olds and their families. Service for everyone led by our youth group

We meet on Tuesday mornings during term time in St Mary's Church from 9.30am to 11am in church for craft activity, refreshments and toys. At about 10.30 we have a short service which includes songs, instruments and a Bible story. All parents and carers of babies and pre school aged children are very welcome to this friendly group. Sessions are free but a small donation to charity is welcomed.

Midweek communion in North Chapel

Let's pray together for the the project to replace the failing lighting in St Mary's Church, Saffron Walden.

A more informal celebration of Holy Communion, giving us a chance to try new things. During this time our children’s group, Team JC, meets nearby in the Parish Rooms and joins us just before we receive communion. The service lasts about an hour and a quarter and refreshments are served.

Midweek communion in North Chapel

A time of Silent Prayer at 10am on the first Thursday of each month. This takes place in the North Chapel and starts with a short reading and stilling exercise, followed by 20 minutes of silence and concluding with the Lord’s Prayer.

Carols for the Advent Season leading up to Christmas

Particularly suitable for young children.

Blue Christmas service, on the longest night of the year, provides a quiet and contemplative worship service as an alternative to the more traditional gatherings. This is in honour of those who are experiencing grief and struggling with loss.

A traditional service of bible readings and carols sung by the choir and congregation.

This service is particularly suitable for younger children. Children are welcome to dress as shepherds or angels to take part in the Christmas story. Donations will be collected for the mayor's charities. Any unwrapped presents will be donated to a local women's refuge.

Midweek communion

A trail round the church journeying from Ascension to Pentecost. The trail will progress from who God is (Ascension, Creator, Adoration), who we are (Diversity, Image, Silence) and our response (Sorry, COVID, Loss, Refugees) ending with Pentecost as we move and look outwards. At the beginning of the trail you will receive a trail pack with all the resources you will need for each station, inside the pack will be an introduction for each station and space for reflections.
