About Us
Our vision: “Jesus, to know Him, and to make Him known in this community and beyond.”
The church leadership structure is led by our minister with support from the Ministry Team (Commissioned by the Bishop of Barking) and the PCC.
We have a lay director of our Pastoral Care team. The Vicar and Church Wardens have pastoral oversight.
Local Authorised Preachers (LAP)
As part of the leading and preaching at services we have lay local authorised preachers. who have been approved and commissioned by the Bishop of Barking.
Church Staff: In addition to the minister, the church employs a part-time Office Administrator who performs the church’s clerical duties including the financial bookkeeping and hall/church lettings which also includes liaising with church volunteers regarding the opening and closing of buildings after lettings etc.
The Church Wardens are responsible for church, hall and grounds, arranging maintenance and repairs as required which includes obtaining business tenders.
We employ a cleaner for the church/halls and a gardener is employed to maintain the gardens.
Membership: Following the full revision of the St John's Electoral Roll in April 2019 there are currently 81 adult people.
Home Groups: A number of groups meet weekly or fortnightly (there are daytime/evening groups) for bible study, prayer and fellowship.
Buildings: The church and both halls have been extensively refurbished. The halls which ajoins the church has a moveable partition, kitchen, disabled and childrens facilities. The design allows for a wide range of activities to be accommodated. The church is in a modern contemporary style.
