Greet the dawn - the celebration of Easter begins at 5.30am with a service of light, the fist Holy Communion of the day and then a simple (and welcome!) breakfast.

St. Nicholas, Rawreth

We are a small rural Church of England church between Chelmsford, Basildon and Southend-on-Sea.

If you are in the area why not call in for a time of quiet and reflection in a beautiful setting? We keep the church open as much as we can during daylight hours but if you are making a special visit and want to be sure, please get in touch to check.

We would love to see you at any of our services. We meet for Sunday Worship at 10.00 a.m. This usually lasts for just under an hour and is followed by tea, coffee or squash and biscuits, or, on special occasions, cake!

Our main service on a Sunday is usually the Parish Eucharist, but once a month, on the 1st Sunday, it is a form of Morning Worship.

We also have short services of Morning Prayer on weekdays, currently Monday and Thursday at 8 a.m. You would be really welcome to join us but if you do plan to come along it may be worth getting in touch first, there are only a few who attend and it may just be that diary clashes coincide so that none of the regulars can attend.

St. Nicholas is also a great place for Weddings, Christenings (sometimes called Baptisms) and Funerals. More information is on our Christenings, Weddings and Funerals page, but if you have any questions at all please do get in touch

Safeguarding

Our parish of Rawreth: St Nicholas is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO [[email protected]] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [www.chelmsford.anglican.org/safeguarding-landing]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
