Plaistow: St Mary

The church of St Mary The Virgin in Plaistow, East London welcomes everyone. We want to ensure that all who come through the doors (and those who don’t) receive a warm welcome into the church family and has a chance to encounter the love of God. We celebrate the Eucharist (communion) every Sunday and pray, sing, worship and explore the bible together as well as enjoying time together over a piece of cake and a cuppa at the end of the service.

We value all and celebrate diversity. We believe church is so much more than simply a Sunday morning service and have a real heart for community and social action and are exploring how to live that out. We are starting small, we don’t have all the answers but we are looking forward to what God has in store for the community in this place and can’t wait to join in and see things happen. ALL are welcome so please come as you are and let’s journey together.

The service is clearly structured and we have service booklets and notice sheets so you know what is going on and there’s always someone to point things out. The service takes about an hour and is followed by refreshments and a time to chat and get to know one another. ALL a welcome

Licensed on 7 March we gave a warm welcome to Rev Emma Wylie and family in a service at St Philip and St James
