North Shoebury: St Mary the Virgin

Serving North Shoebury for a Thousand Years

Safeguarding

The parish of North Shoebury: St Mary the Virgin is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

For more details, please see our Safeguarding Page.

About us

As you will read elsewhere, this church building has been on this site since 1254.  But there was a Christian presence before then.  We have served North Shoebury for this long.  In that time much has changed, and continues to change.

Our services will continue to be streamed.  The Sunday Service will be available from 10:30 each Sunday.  The service on our YouTube Channel.  Search for St Mary North Shoebury, or click on the FaceBook link below.  We hope that you can join in.

Is the nature of church changing, or was it always like this? What does "practice our faith" mean?
