Ladies, Gents and Disabled
We have ample space for parking in front of the church wall. The car park is big enough to accommodate a coach.
A couple of parking spaces are available at the end of the church path on the grass area beyond the path. It is advisable to slowly reverse down the path so that your passenger side has more space.
Our Building
A beautiful Grade 1 listed church with monuments and windows from the 14th century.
Many monuments to the Poyntz family including Sir Gabriel Poyntz.
In the churchyard is St Cedd’s Well, used for early Christian baptisms.
Music and Worship
The tower contains 6 bells hung for full circle change ringing. The heaviest bell weighs 9½cwt. The bells are rung from the ground floor and are hung anti-clockwise.
Sunday service ringing is 30 minutes before the service start time.
Practice night is Monday evenings 7:45-9:00pm (not Bank Holidays).
Visitors are always welcome to join us for service ringing and for practices on Monday evenings.
If you would like to learn to ring, come and see us on our practice night.
The Bell Ringers are affiliated to the Southern District of the Essex Association of Change Ringers (EACR). If you would like to visit North Ockendon as part of a ringing outing please contact the Tower Captain at the following email address: [email protected]
