We are delighted to announce that the Revd Gary Fleming has been appointed as Vicar to the Benefice of Clavering with Langley, Arkesden, Wicken Bonhunt, Manuden and Berden, in the Saffron Walden Deanery. Gary brings with him great enthusiasm, energy and insight, as well as significant pre-ordination experience of strategic leadership and team management in the Fire Service. He has served his curacy, alongside his Training Incumbent the Revd Robert Stone, in the Rodings with Canfield and The Easters with distinction. Any moving on is bittersweet; excitement for what God is calling you into and a real sadness at what is being left behind. Please pray for Gary and his wife Jayne as they make this move; and pray also for the parishes they are leaving and the benefice to which they are called. In all our comings and goings may God be served and glorified. We anticipate that Gary will have his final service in July and move home over the summer. We are expecting his licensing in the new benefice to be in September. We will announce dates as soon as possible.
Following the sad death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II we ask that floral tributes in recognition to Her Majesty be left at the War Memorial in the churchyard. There will be a Book of Condolence in the church. The bell (half muffled) will be sounded at 12.00 today (9.9.22) and the Union Flag will be flown at half mast on the Village Green
