BOOK FOR JUNE: DEAR ENGLAND, by the former Bishop of Chelmsford, Stephen Cottrell, now Archbishop of YorK.

This insightful book began to form in Stephen Cottrell’s mind when he was in Café Nero at Paddington Station, and a woman asked him: “Why are you a priest?” He told her there were two answers: one is God, and the second is that he wanted to change the world. Dear England is his expanded answer to this woman’s question: the story of how Christian
faith can make sense of life, giving a framework to deal with our biggest problems and how its values and ideals can change the world.

The group will meet monthly, with our next meeting on Tuesday 27th June in the St Mary’s Church Rooms at 7.30 pm. The group will be led by Natasha and people from both churches are very welcome,.

Please let Natasha know if you would like to come and please read as much (or as little) of the book as you can before we meet up.

All Saints, Feering

Feering parish church stands in a traditional rural setting close to the Village Green and the local pub. Like St. Mary's church it has stood sentinel over the village for over 850 years.

The church contains many fine features not least the glorious East window which glows jewel like and contains many scenes from Our Lord's Passion.
