Afternoon Lent Course

Occurring
Every Wednesday at for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue
St Mary the Virgin
Address
St Mary the Virgin, Church Street Kelvedon Colchester, CO5 9AL, United Kingdom

Natasha and Simon will be leading our Lent Course, using the short book, Women of Holy Week – an Easter Journey in nine stories, by author and lecturer in Christian studies, Paula Gooder. The book looks at 9 women who were with Jesus during the last week of his life, and imagines what they might have felt, seen or heard.

The role of women in the Bible is often overlooked, and Paula Gooder helps us to see things differently. To give you a flavour of the book it is available as a Podcast – just search “Women in Holy Week” on Apple Podcasts, or where you get your podcasts,
or go to https://www.churchofengland.org/our-faith/what-we-believe/lent-holy-week-and-easter/women-holy-week

The course run will twice each week, in the afternoon and evening: on Tuesday evenings in St Mary’s Church Rooms, 7.30–9.00 pm, from 28th February; and on Wednesday afternoons at 2.30 pm, starting on 1st March (venue TBC). Both courses will run for five weeks, with the option of final sessions in Holy Week on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th April.

Please contact Natasha ([email protected]) for more details. You will need a copy of the book (or access to the Podcast).

All Saints, Feering

Feering parish church stands in a traditional rural setting close to the Village Green and the local pub. Like St. Mary's church it has stood sentinel over the village for over 850 years.

The church contains many fine features not least the glorious East window which glows jewel like and contains many scenes from Our Lord's Passion.
