Getting here
St Augustine is found in the midst of the park of One Tree Hill on Honor Oak Park. The church is quite easily seen in the winter but when the summer comes it is quite hidden amongst the trees of One Tree Hill. It is a very quiet reflective spot from where one may survey central London.
By Bus and Train The church is accessible by bus routes P4 and P12 and only a short walk from Brockley Rise where bus routes 122, 171, and 172 pass. Honor Oak Park is the nearest station for Southern and London Overground trains. It is about a 5 minute walk to the church. Four mainline trains an hour go to London Bridge station and the London Overground has approximately 8 trains an hour from Dalston in the north to West Croydon and Crystal Palace in the south.
On Foot from the station: turn right out of the station and walk up the hill past the entrance to the allotments. If you can manage steps take the first entrance to the park after the allotments and walk up the path. The entrance to the churchyard is about halfway up the hill. If steps are difficult continue walking to the entrance to the driveway (next to the Hindu Temple) and walk up the slope to the church. If coming by foot from Brenchley gardens you can venture through the woods and approach the church from the top of the hill.
By Car One Tree Hill is approachable by road. From the north along Brenchley Gardens and from the west along Peckham Rye, joining Forest Hill Road which becomes Honor Oak Park. From the south along Honor Oak Road turning right onto Honor Oak Park. Finally from the east turning onto Honor Oak Park from Brockley Rise. To find the church look for the driveway off Honor Oak Park next to the Hindu Temple. If you rely upon SatNav alone you may be taken to the other side of One Tree Hill.
Parking Cars may park along the road in the park which leads up to the church gates, but only on the side that does not have wooden bollards. There is very limited parking within the church yard. We request that the church yard area be used only for dropping off, as a turn around space, and for vehicles with disabled badges.
