ST JOHN THE EVANGELIST IS SITUATED CLOSE TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO HATFIELD FOREST.
IT IS A CLASSIC VICTORIAN CHURCH BUILT IN 1857 AND WAS DESCRIBED AT THAT TIME AS "THE PRETTY LITTLE EDIFICE".
ST JOHN'S WAS OPENED FOR DIVINE SERVICE IN MAY 1858.
THE CURRENT ELECTORAL ROLE IS 30 AND THE AVERAGE WEEKLY ATTENDENCE 15-20 DRAWN FROM THE NEIGHBOURHOOD INCLUDING RESIDENTS FROM BUSH END, TAKELEY, HATFIELD BROAD OAK AND BISHOP'S STORTFORD. THE POPULATION OF BUSH END ITSELF IS 120.
