Bush End: St John the Evangelist

St John the Evangelist is a small church on the edge of a very large forest!  The forest was created for William the Conqueror, but the church was built for the people of the village in the mid-nineteenth century.

Today we welcome villagers, visitors and pilgrims to our little church.  Please come in at any time to enjoy the peace and quiet, or join us for a Sunday service at 9am every 1st, 2nd and 4th Sunday (feast days and festivals are advertised in advance). Our services use the Book of Common Prayer (BCP)

ST JOHN'S IS OPEN 24/7

Our churchwardens are  David Robson and Fiona Perrott-Humphrey

Safeguarding

Our parish of St John Evangelist, Bush End is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO [email protected] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
