Getting here
St Andrew's is the parish church for everyone in Halstead. The church's distinctive tower, at the top of the high street, can be seen across most of the town. You will find a warm welcome at the church, whether you come for Sunday services or our midweek activities. Do pay us a visit!
Our services take place at the following times:
Sunday, 8am - a simple, quiet service of Holy Communion, without music. On one Sunday of the month, we use the Book of Common Prayer at this service.
Sunday, 10.30am - on the first, third, and fourth Sundays, a traditional Communion service with organ and choir.
Sunday, 10.30am - on the second Sunday of the month, an informal all-age service, designed to engage children as well as adults, with Holy Communion
Sunday, 7pm - on the fourth Sunday of the month, an informal and contemporary service, Ignite, meeting in the church hall, with proper coffee from 6.30pm. We also hold occasional Taize-style services on Sunday evenings, and periodic memorial services.
Thursday, 10am - a short service of Holy Communion, followed by tea and coffee and a chance to chat.
During the week, the Foodbank is open on Mondays from 10am til 2pm; the Edward Bear toddler group meets on Tuesdays from 9.30am to 11am; and on Fridays there is a coffee morning from 9.30am. We also run regular study courses (such as the Pilgrim course).
Baptism and wedding enquiries are welcome; please contact the parish office in the first instance.
For more information on any of our activities, please do get in touch via the Contact Details given. We look forward to meeting you!
