Christians have worshiped at Debden Church for over 800 years and Debden Church is still the living thriving centre of Christian worship at the spiritual heart of the village community. A regular congregation of all ages meets for worship on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 9 am and alternates with our neighbouring Parish of Wimbish. We are part of the Saffron Walden and Villages Team Ministry in the Diocese of Chelmsford. Major festivals and special services may be at different times. Debden C of E Primary Academy holds regular services in the church. Details of all services and events are updated regularly.
The parish of Debden: St Mary the Virgin & All Saints is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
