At this service we remember the last meal Jesus shared with his friends, and there is an opportunity for anyone who wants to to have a foot washed to remember what Jesus did. After Holy Communion, the altar and sanctuary is stripped so that the church is bare for Good Friday. This service then ends in silence, and people are welcome to stay longer in the chapel to remember Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, called the Watch of the Passion.

Welcome to St Peter and St Paul's Black Notley!

You are so welcome at our services. 

We are a friendly Anglo-Catholic church which means we like to worship God through singing, liturgy, and Church festivals. So we have a choir, we occasionally use incense, and we love celebrating the Eucharist every week (the meal of bread and wine that Jesus shared with his friends.) We regularly have children as part of our congregation, and love being an inter-generational church.
