"Anna's Place" for older adults

Each week we are finding new people make their way to Anna's Place.  This has been set up at Christ Church under the umbrella of "Anna Chaplaincy" started in 2010 by Debbie Thrower, a former BBC broadcaster and Licensed Lay Minister in the Salisbury Diocese.  Our volunteers at Anna's Place are either fully DBS checked or self-certified under the Chelmsford Diocesan safeguarding guidelines.  One of our volunteers has already completed Anna Chaplaincy training and three are in the process of undergoing training.  Anna's Place is providing a weekly place of welcome for the lonely, the bereaved, and carers who sometimes find it difficult to take their loved ones to a place which understands their needs.  We are dementia friendly.
