St Margaret's Barking

St Margaret’s Barking is a wonderful historic church. It stands on the site of Barking Abbey, one of the most ancient Christian sites in the country, where people have prayed for over 1,300 years. Today it is home to a vibrant multi-cultural Christian community.

We join in worship at 8:30am & 11am every Sunday morning.
We share Holy Communion at 12:30pm every Thursday.
We say Morning Prayer on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:30am.

Our Vicar Mark and his wife Jennie (who is a Priest in the Diocese of London) host a weekly podcast which you can find here: stmargaretschurchbarking.com/conversation

Whoever you are, wherever you are from and whatever place you find yourself on your journey of faith; you are welcome here.

Safeguarding

"Our parish of St Margaret, Barking is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Carol Brabender on 07746 040316 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Duty Number on 01245 294444. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
