Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals
For centuries, people have turned to the Church to help them mark significant times in their lives, particularly the birth of a child, the marriage of a couple, and the death of a loved one. We can't always explain why we want to call on the Church at these times, but, at the very least, something instinctive prompts us to do so. Even if you are not a regular worshipper, you are welcome to approach us to ask how they can help you to mark such times.
Arranging Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals.
If you contact us about baptisms, weddings and funerals, you can be assured of a friendly and helpful response. If we can not fulfil your request ourselves, we will try to point you in the direction of another church which might be able to help you.
If you live within the parish boundary of St. Andrew's Ashingdon, then it is usually a straightforward process to arrange a baptism, wedding or funeral in this church.
If you do not live within the parish boundary but have a connection with this parish or this church, then please do still contact us to talk about the possibilities. Baptism
We are delighted that you are inquiring about Baptism (which some people call ‘Christening’). Whether your enquiry is for you or your child/ren we offer you a warm welcome, and we hope you will feel at home here at St Andrew's Church.
Baptism marks the beginning of a journey with God in the Christian faith which we hope will last through the whole of life. We want to support and encourage you, and your children, as we grow together in faith. With this in mind, before you or your child/ren are baptised, we ask you to come along to a few services so that we can get to know you, and you can find out a bit more about what church is all about.
When you have been to a few services, one of the Ministry Team will arrange to come out to chat with you in your own home and arrange the date for your or your child’s baptism.</span>
*Please contact us at least 3 months before you are hoping to have the baptism.*
