On Monday 5th June, we were delighted to be notified by Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust that they have kindly and generously provided a grant to cover the entire net cost of a Structural Survey and Report of the Bell Frame and its surrounds.We have commissioned Hockley & Dawson to perform the Inspection survey and report. They kindly did an informal visual inspection in late January 2023.The Inspection and Report is scheduled for late June 2023
On Monday 31st October, work began on the urgent repairs to North Aisle Roof Beam repairs.The work to replace the north aisle wall plate was finally completed on 9th February. It had been delayed by the cold weather: the temperature was too low for Ward & Co to apply the special paint to the new timbers and metal fittings. The Church’s architect has now issued the Practical Completion Certificate.Thank you to all who have donated so generously towards this major work, so ensuring the future of the church building.Thank you also to Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust, the National Churches Trust and Wolfson Foundation, All Churches Trust, Garfield-Weston Foundation, the Warner Bequest, and our patron Corpus Christi College.The church is now open every day in daylight hours.
