The new under-pew heaters are now installed! – a much needed improvements to our church’s heating. This new system will be more effective at keeping the congregation warm, yet also considerably less costly to run! Heating is our church’s biggest running cost. It’s taken several months to achieve the Diocese’s agreement of the precise cable runs, so that the medieval encaustic tiles are not affected (a big factor in being a Grade One building).Electric Heating Solutions, the specialist church heating electrical contractors, installed the 40 new heaters in mid-May. The new system cost £12,900 excl. VAT (the church should be able to claim back all the VAT). On Monday 5th June, we were delighted to be notified by Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust that they have kindly and generously provided a grant to cover the entire net cost of a Structural Survey and Report of the Bell Frame and its surrounds.We have commissioned Hockley & Dawson to perform the Inspection survey and report. They kindly did an informal visual inspection in late January 2023.The Inspection and Report is scheduled for late June 2023
