About Us
‘You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden.’ Matthew 5:14<div>We strive to be A joyful, daring, diverse and generous Christian community, setting the world alight with the love of God!
All are welcome to our Sunday Worship with Holy Communion and music led by our versatile robed choir and talented organists. Service starts at 9.45 am.
We offer Junior Church for our younger members. We are lucky to have an excellent team of leaders who offer creative craft ideas to help younger people engage with the gospel. There is the opportunity to ‘show and tell’ after Holy Communion is shared.
On the 3rd Sunday of the month, our young people lead our worship - Renew Service with more modern songs and accessible story telling of the Gospel.
On Wednesday mornings at 10.00 am, there is a traditional Book of Common Prayer Said Service, with sermon, held in church.
We love to celebrate Life Events - Baptisms and Weddings are the occasions for God’s loving presence in our human relationships to shine - help at times of sadness through prayer, bereavement support and our Funeral Ministry.
The church exists to introduce people to Jesus, and we have different ways to reach out and build supportive relationships within our community. Messy Church is held every 3rd Tuesday in the Church Hall – 3.30 to 5.30 pm; Contact Group ‘Pop in’ Afternoon Tea on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in the Church Hall - 2 to 4 pm, preceded by Holy Communion at 1.30pm; Mothers’ Union Christian care and family support on the 3rd Tuesday of the month - 8.00pm; Tots and Toys for young families, every Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Church Hall; and much much more with annual Panto, Choir Concert and other events.
St. Andrew’s Church, Coulsdon has a strong musical tradition and the choir has sung at the church since it was built in 1914, and certainly as early as 1906 when Rev. Francis H. Roberts became the first Vicar. Our Sunday Worship continued to be blessed with a mixed, versatile, robed choir, organ and/or piano music week by week. The choir sings an introit at the start of the service, an anthem during communion and helps lead the rest of the worship.
Generosity is a characteristic of God— a natural side effect of following Jesus and letting scripture reshape your life. We are using what God has given us to share the good news of Jesus by serving others. Regular giving and generous donations help us make a real difference to people nearby and around the world, and also to update-repair-preserve our church for the community. Please Give a Little to help us continue the work and mission at St. Andrew, Coulsdon. https://givealittle.co/campaigns/245995f2-1660-475d-9a4d-7b50baf3d2bd
