The Air Crash Memorial Service which will take place on Sunday 4th July 2021 10.30am at Dorchester Abbey and shown live online via a Zoom link

This decision has been made because it seems very likely that some Covid restrictions will remain in place after June 21st, including social distancing, and the Abbey offers considerably more space for a congregation that St Lawrence Church in Toot Baldon.

Even so, the Abbey only has a capacity for 100 people sat at a social distance. Therefore if you would like to attend in person please contact me ([email protected]) to request a seat.

If we are not able to accommodate everyone in the Abbey we will try to make sure that every organisation has a fair representation in the Abbey. The Zoom link is below and the order of service attached.

I am delighted to announce that the Venerable Jonathan Chaffey CB, the Archdeacon of Oxford, will be our preacher at the service. Jonathan formally served as the Chaplain-in-Chief and head of the RAF Chaplains Branch.

I am sure that like me, you will be disappointed that we are not able to hold this memorial service in the usual way, but I hope you understand the reasons for the precautions we are taking and that you will look forward to next year’s service with even more enthusiasm.

I look forward to seeing you all again in July, either in person or online. Rev Teresa
