Sotwell: St James

St James' Sotwell, in the parish of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, is part of the Team Benefice of Wallingford.  Now a "Festival Church" used as an alternative venue to St Agatha's, worship is usually now on Christmas Eve for the "Midnight Communion", the St James' Patronal Festival on a Sunday in late July, and a Candlemas Christingle Family Service at 4pm in late Jan/early Feb.

Other services take place at St. Agatha's but with alternating Joint Services at roughly 6 week intervals (St. James' / St. Agatha's) as advertised in the previous Sunday's pew sheet & under the calendar of events.

The parish of Brightwell cum Sotwell is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
