Bell Ringing at Shiplake

There is an enthusiastic and friendly bell ringing team at Shiplake who welcome new recruits to learn and enjoy the art of change-ringing. The complete bell installation at SS Peter & Paul was replaced in 2010, including casting 8 new bells and they are now one of the best rings of bells for their weight in the Diocese and very easy to ring. Shiplake is an accredited Ringing Centre used extensively for the training and development of ringers and is equipped with a computer simulator, dumb bell and TV cameras that show the bells in action.

The local band practice on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm and ring prior to all Sunday services as well as for weddings and funerals when requested. Why not come along and learn more about this historic art, and the opportunities that being part of this interesting nationwide activity presents.
