On Saturday 25th November, Christ the King hosted Sara and Sam Hargreaves from Engage Worship who led an exciting one day workshop on the theme of ‘The rest is worship’. This was about Jesus' invitation to rest in him. The morning session included sung worship, reflection, teaching and discussion around the themes of The Rest Is Worship. After lunch, there were the options of a retreat- style exploration on Christian rest and reflect and the other explored practically what it looks like to lead gathered worship on God’s invitation to rest. It was on 28th March 1993 that the first services were held in Christ the King Church in Milton Keynes. OK, also in Milton Keynes, St Lawrence's Church is this year celebrating its 800th birthday, which makes our 30 years look pretty negligible, but Christ the King was a band new church, built in an entirely new development area and to a pretty innovative model of a share Protestant and Roman Catholic building. Our intention is to keep going to match that 800th birthday of St Lawrence's - unless (of course) in the meantime Christ returns. The picture shows the church under construction in 1992.
