Our Holy Communion service is a celebration of the Eucharist, an ancient name (from the Greek word for 'thanksgiving') widely used today for the service that is otherwise known as the Holy Communion, the Lord's Supper or Mass. The Eucharist is a service in which Christians follow Jesus' command to his followers, to share bread and wine in remembrance of him. This is a family service where all are most welcome. It is held in Cropredy on the first Sunday of each month and is usually led by our Vicar, the Revd Canon Sarah Fenby. Refreshments are served afterwards in the church and all are invited to join in and mix socially.

Cropredy: St Mary the Virgin

The Church of St Mary the Virgin is a magnificent, mainly 14C, church, which lies at the heart of the village of Cropredy. The church has a fine pre-Reformation lectern, a Doom painting of national significance, beautiful stained glass, and a lady chapel dedicated to St. Fremund, our Saxon saint whose chantry chapel once stood on the site. You can read more by clicking here: Guide to Church of St Mary the Virgin

Our church is open daily and everyone is welcome.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Cropredy is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Benefice PSO, Sue Upton (tel: 01295 758396), or for the most urgent safeguarding concerns call 01865 208295 during office hours, or email [email protected].
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
