This will be a Group Churches event, led by different vicars in our Group of Churches on Wednesdays in Lent in St Lawrence's Church. It is a reflective and Lectio-themed group, meaning that we will be sitting with the Scriptures prayerfully. After 8 years of service to St John's, John has stepped down as the church organist and choir director. He was given a card, an enormous present and loud appreciative applause.After the service, drinks and nibbles were served while John cut a 'piano' cake kindly provided by Linda. Many stayed to chat, reminisce and to thank John personally.
Our church organist, John (second from the right), is retiring on 16 February 2025. He has given many years faithful service and will be greatly missed, especially by the choir.Please try and be in church for the service that Sunday and be part of the celebration of John's time at St John's.
