Everyone is welcome, and walks are accessible to all ages. There are six separate walks taking place across the Diocese of Southwark during Lent.
CLIMATE PILGRIMAGE: Reigate and Tandridge Walk
Saturday 17 FebruaryWalk leader Rev Helen Burnett [email protected] (for volunteer stewards).
A 7-mile semi-rural walk on the North Downs which is mainly off road. The theme of this walk in relationship to climate and ecology is biodiversity, farming and transport, with part of the walk crossing the M25, and plans for a farm stop on route.
Walking boots or wellingtons for muddy off-road walking will be essential, plus clothing appropriate to the weather forecast on the day. Pack a rucksack with waterproofs, 1 litre of drinking water, a packed lunch and enough snacks for the day.
There are two steep climbs, with a minibus option for those who may find these difficult. All pilgrims must follow instructions given by the walk leaders and stewards and take full responsibility for their own safety and welfare, as well as for the supervision and safety of all children under their care. Any dogs must be well behaved and kept on a lead at all times.
