Alfred Hitchcock adapts Patricia Highsmith’s iconic novel in this gripping psychological thriller, screened at Bradford Cathedral.
Tennis star Guy meets a stranger named Bruno on a train. The two men share their personal troubles, and Bruno suggests an idea for the perfect murder: each man will kill the bothersome person in the other man’s life. Since the men are strangers, no-one, suggests Bruno, will suspect the other of the crime.
When the two men part, Guy shrugs off the conversation and is sure that he’ll never hear from Bruno again. Bruno, however, believes that the men had an agreement, kills Guy’s wife, and in turn expects the other man to uphold his end of the bargain, and kill Bruno's father.
DIRECTOR: Alfred Hitchcock
