The Peterborough Chamber Choir was founded in 1984, in Peterborough, by the late Henk Kamminga. Henk passed away in January 2022 and we, as a choir have been determined to continue the wonderful musical legacy he left us. Although we still have one founder member singing with us, most of the choir now come from other places in the UK, so our connection with Peterborough is tenuous.

We meet together for about seven weekends a year, as a Visiting Choir, in Cathedrals all over the UK. We have also sung in Europe, most recently in Holland and prior to that, in France and Belgium. Cathedral visits this year have included: Coventry, Southwell, Lincoln, Christ Church Oxford, Portsmouth and Brecon. We last sang in Bradford in 2019.

John Wyatt is our principal Musical Director now and our principal organist is Gary Sieling. However, in Bradford, Gary Sieling will be directing and our deputy organist, Christopher Moore, will be playing for us.

You can join the Peterborough Chamber Choir for Choral Evensong at 5:30plm on Saturday 17th February 2024 and our regular services on Sunday 18th February at 10:30am and 3:30plm.

Bradford Cathedral

Bradford's beautiful Cathedral is a hidden jewel waiting to be discovered. Set in tranquil gardens the Cathedral is alive with a sense of story from its thirteen centuries at the heart of the city.

This, the third church on the site, is over 500 years old, with twentieth century additions. Bradford's most ancient place of worship is friendly, peaceful and fascinating, with many special features.

The parish of Cathedral Church of St. Peter Bradford is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
