All are welcome to the Sunday Eucharist, our focal act of worship for the Cathedral. In this service, we gather together in praise and prayer, we listen to the scriptures, and we share bread and wine together as Jesus commanded his disciples to do.

The liturgy follows the pattern of Common Worship and with elements of the service sung by the Cathedral Choir. The service is also live-streamed via the cathedral's YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Advent is a season of expectation, of Jesus' first coming as a baby and of his anticipated second coming to make all things well. Join us for this atmospheric service in which that story is told through movement and music, from darkness to light.

‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’, so, join us at Bradford Cathedral for this magical evening of best loved festive songs, performed live by Candlelight.

Featuring sing-along classics such as ‘White Christmas’, ‘Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!’, ‘Santa Baby’, ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘Winter Wonderland’, this uplifting concert is the perfect way to celebrate a ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’ with all the family!

Last year we launched this informal, multilingual Christmas service featuring music and readings from international communities based in and around Bradford. This year it returns to lead us into the season, celebrating the global significance of Christmas across different cultures.

The service will conclude with light refreshments including nibbles from some of these cultural traditions.

Bringing together the City Carol Service and the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership Carol Service into one shared event.

This event is being hosted by Bradford Cathedral and will feature seasonal music led by the Bradford Cathedral Choir and the City of Bradford Brass Band. All are welcome.

In a special collaboration for this Advent, monologues by Revd Canon Ned Lunn and music by Rachel Chaplin are performed together in the beautiful surroundings of Bradford Cathedral.

Words and music combine to reflect on the place of faith in the unexpected and challenging circumstances we find ourselves in. Listen to the voice of Mary, the mother of Jesus, exploring themes of fear, expectation and hope as she wrestles with pregnancy and motherhood at a time of great upheaval.

Mary, played by Philippa Slingsby-Lunn, will be reading the words of Mary as a modern day pregnant woman.

The Advent music is by Rachel Chaplin, performed by Evi Dobner (vocals) and Rachel Chaplin (piano).

This event is 'Pay As You Feel', and you are invited to pay on the door or at the event.

Rachel Chaplin is a classically-trained instrumentalist and composer. She performs internationally as an oboist with period instrument ensembles including the English Baroque Soloists, with whom she performed for the King’s Coronation. Rachel’s compositions combine her experience in classical music with a rich tradition of Christian worship, which she has practised in various forms throughout her life. She released her debut album, ‘Music from an Inner Space: Psalms & sacred songs’, earlier this year, performing on piano and featuring the ethereal vocals of Evi Dobner with accompaniment by strings and trumpet. Described as ‘beautiful and powerful songs, better than any medicine’ (BBC Radio 3’s Hannah French), Rachel’s music opens up a calm and contemplative space into which her lyrics strike with beauty and depth.

Evi Dobner is a singer, songwriter, dancer and sacred artist. Currently co-leader of worship at the Lee Abbey Community in Devon, she was formally involved in worship direction at St Paul’s Hammersmith and before that in Budapest, where she was born and raised. Her most recent album is a solo collection of Hungarian lullabies Hamarosan. Her collaboration with Rachel has seen them release five music videos (recorded and filmed by her husband Elijah Dobner) and their debut album Music from an Inner Space.

Popularised by the annual broadcast from King's College, Cambridge, the Festival of Nine Lessons and carols tells the story of humanity and Jesus Christ through bible readings and choral and congregational carols. All are welcome to join us for this special candlelit service followed by seasonal refreshments.

The Cathedral Choir presents its annual recital. Music, poetry, witty Christmas stories and the best-loved Christmas carols come together in this yearly sing-a-long celebration.

Messy Crib returns for another interactive service involving storytelling, craft, music and prayers. Follow the star and meet some of the people who were there at the first messy Christmas in the messy stable and found Jesus in his messy crib. You are encouraged to come dressed as one of your favourite nativity characters.
