Bradford Cathedral is hosting five events and services around the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, starting on Tuesday 31st May with free family activities.

Taking place during half-term, the activities will centre on Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, with lots of crafts, colouring and quizzes, including "Design Your Own Crown" and "Design Your Own Throne".

The activities are suitable for younger and older children, and parents, grandparents and carers are welcome to join in with the fun as well! Family guided tours will also take place at 11am and 2pm.

On Saturday 4th June the monthly Bradford Faith Trail returns. June’s Trail will be extra special, with some added “royal” details and stories being highlighted along the route.

There are places available on the June Trail but we are expecting it to be popular and places are limited. Please contact [email protected] to book a place on this or future Faith Trails. It starts at 10am from the Catholic Church on Leeds Road.

On the following day - Sunday 5th June – the Cathedral will host ‘A Civic Service of thanksgiving for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee’ starting at 3:30pm.

The service will be led by Bishop Nick, the Bishop of Leeds, in the presence of the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire and the Lord Mayor of Bradford. The music will be led by City of Bradford Brass Band and the Cathedral Chamber Choir, and refreshments will be served afterwards.

Finally, on Saturday 11th June, there are two further events. At 2pm is the ‘Matinée Concert on the Queen's Official Birthday’, where you can join Bradford Cathedral Choir and the City of Bradford Brass Band for a celebratory afternoon of patriotic music. There will be uplifting and inspiring songs and plenty of audience participation!

The concert will be followed, at 4pm, by a ‘Jubilee Street Party to mark the Queen's Official birthday’. Come along, dressed for the occasion in red, white and blue, to enjoy a buffet, live music, games and a quiz, plus there is a fancy-dress competition for children.
