We are an Anglican church in the Catholic tradition in the Diocese of
Southwark (Church of England). Our congregation is made up of people of
all ages and backgrounds, sharing the love of Christ and serving the
local community. We are proud of our reputation of being a diverse and
inclusive Church and we are committed to being a space where all people
are not simply welcomed but delighted in, regardless of age, wealth,
education, ethnicity, sexuality, or gender. We are growing, in faith,
understanding and number, as together we consider and join in with what
God is doing in and around Avondale Square and South East London.
The parish of St Philip's is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Southwark’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
