A reminder that this year is the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings on 6th June 1944. This date will be marked by nationwide commemoration events to honour all those who risked their lives for freedom and peace.
Plumtree & Normanton Parish Councils and St Mary’s Church, Plumtree invite you to join the event being held at the church, from 8pm on 6th June.

The evening will include:

· Music from the 1940s

· Refreshments – tea / coffee/ juice and cake or wine and nibbles

· Bell ringing



The commemoration will culminate with the nationwide lighting of the beacon at 9.15pm by

Mrs Christine Goldstraw OBE, Deputy Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire.



A musical programme will take place outside, near the west door of the church for you to join in, concluding with the National Anthem.

Tickets are not required, but donations will be gratefully received.

St Mary's, Plumtree

Welcome to St Mary's, at the heart of the small village of Plumtree in Nottinghamshire.

St Mary's is currently open everyday from 9.30 am until 4.00 pm, for private prayer.  Additionally,  we hold a service of Holy Communion in the church on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am and two services on Sundays at 10.30 am and 6.00 pm.
