Our new Dean, who arrived in Gibraltar on 16th March, was going to be installed on 2nd April, but, because of pandemic restrictions, the ceremony had to be delayed.
However this did not prevent him from starting work! Online services were arranged through April and May, and the congregation was able to return to worship in the cathedral from (appropriately) Trinity Sunday, 7th June.
The installation service finally took place on 13th October, with Bishop David Hamid, the assistant bishop in Europe, Aiden Hargreaves Smith, the diocesan registrar, and Ven David Waller, the Archdeacon of Gibraltar. Other guests included the Governor of Gibraltar, who read a Bible passage, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Gibraltar, other ecumenical guests, and Anglican clergy from southern Spain.
