Great Yarmouth Minster (St Nicholas Church) was founded in 1101. It is the largest parish church in the country and has an historic organ by William Hill. It offers a beautiful light sacred space. The East Windows depict the life of Christ from the Annunciation to the Ascension as well as the famous Coleman window in the South Transept. There is a good choir, a ring of 12 bells as well as a group of handbell ringers.
As well as offering a beautful place in which to pray it also offers a range of services throughout the week ranging from the quiet beauty of the daily offices and eucharist to the Sunday services of Holy Communion, Sung Eucharist and Evensong. There are a number of major civic services held throughout the year.
The Church is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 12noon. There is a refeshment area offering a range of hot drinks.
