Facilities and features

Accessibility

Toilets

There is a small carpark that the church has use of and, in larger events such as weddings, we have the possibility of using of the school carpark as well.

There is a larger toilet that accommodate individuals who mobilize on crutches, sticks or zimmer frame. A wheelchair user would need assistance to transfer was the space is tight.

There are two disabled slots right next to the lichgate for services and there is usually space in-front of the church for or disabled parking should that be required.

There are steps to the west and south doors. To facilitate better access we do have temporary ramps that can be put down as necessary. For services the easiest access route is through the church vestry (where the church toilet is).

Music and Worship

We have an active bellringing team who ring for Sunday services, plus weddings and funerals on request. They practice on a Tuesday evening.

We are fortunate enough to have a fantastic Tickle organ that was designed and built by Kenneth Tickell

We use a variety of services. Sunday services are based on Common Worship. Our mid week service is taken from the Book of Common prayer.

We have a combined choir with our sister church,St Mary’s Buckland. It is a traditional, robed choir and we are always looking new recruits, if you can be tempted!

Groups, Courses and Activities

On the last Wednesday of each month between 2-4pm, we hold afternoon tea in the Hamilton Room

Help for Visitors

Guidebooks / Notes

St Michael’s is open every day during daylight hours. We are fortunate enough to have small group of volunteers who open and close the church for us each day.

We welcome all dogs into the church, whether you are simply looking round the church or attending a service with us. There is also a drinking bowl outside the south door that is kept well topped up. All we ask is that your dog remains on a lead while in church.

Other Features

We support our local Foodbank and there is always a container in the West porch for foodbank items. These are then collected and taken to St Matthew foodbank in Redhill.
