Between 7:45 am and 9:30 am. on Saturday, 8th July, a small group of volunteers met outside the church to set up a large gazebo, a Fun Run start sign (made several years ago by a group of younger church members), a registration desk, plus "pre-loved" jewellery and toy stalls. At around 9:30 am a group of marshals from All Saints Church and St Helens went out to their respective run locations and at 10:00 am the run was started to the sound of Paul Hing (of Leicester city fame) playing the Post Horn Galop. This year we had a select group of 10 runners and a dog, but it has to be said that it was a great occasion and enjoyed by all. Several people mentioned that it was good that we had kept the annual event going. From a quick count - we had about 18 people involved in setting up and helping on the day, including Jonathon Haw and his colleague Gary who, as "First Responders", attended to make it a safe event. We haven't made as much money for the three charities - Cancer Research UK, Parkinson's UK and Tearfund - as usual, but with donations that are still coming in and money from the stalls, it will come to more than £140. I'd like to thank everyone involved in what was a very joyful event. Dave Harrold
