Guide me, O thou great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land.I am weak, but thou art mighty;hold me with thy powerful hand.Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more;feed me till I want no more.2. Open now the crystal fountain, whence the healing stream doth flow;let the fire and cloudy pillarlead me all my journey through.Strong deliverer, strong deliverer,be thou still my strength and shield;be thou still my strength and shield.3. When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside;death of death and hell’s destruction, land me safe on Canaan’s side.Songs of praises, songs of praises,I will ever give to thee;I will ever give to thee.We look forward to you joining us at 10:30 or on 'catch up'.

“When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24 : 30 - 32Readings today : Luke 24 : 13 – 35Thought for the weekThere are many important journeys in the Bible. The seemingly low key journey of two disciples on the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus should have been insignificant. They were traveling simply in order to arrive somewhere. A journey that needed to be made.Yet Luke records the journey as one of huge significance, because the Risen Jesus travels with them.In many ways it is a picture of the early church. The first steps of Jesus’ believers, even those who have met with Him, tentatively making their way out of Jerusalem into the wider world. They are full of questions. Pieces of the jigsaw they just can’t fit together. Yet they travel, and become part of the mission of the church to tell the world about the crucified and Risen Lord.We are part of that same journey, that same mission. The living Jesus travels with us. Let us celebrate that we are called to go in His name. Rev Paul
