We read in the Bible that it was about 3 o’clock in the afternoon on Good Friday that Jesus breathed his last and died. This year we are inviting as many people as possible to join us on the St Simon and St Jude’s Facebook page for 3pm so that we can stop for a few minutes together, wherever we are, to remember Jesus’ death on the cross and the sacrifice he made for us. We will have a short time (5 minutes) of reflection and prayer together.

Whether you are at home, or on holiday, please join us.

St Mary's Elmesthorpe

Everyone is welcome to these services.

Safeguarding

Our parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Leicester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Di Tingay or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
