About Us
Welcome to Whitwick Parish Church's website. We are a friendly bunch and we'd be delighted to welcome you whenever or how often you can join us.
Were a member church of the United Benefice of Whitwick, Thringstone and Swannington.
Our Priorities: To worship God, to grow in faith, to serve the people of our parish and community, and to share Christ's love and truth through our living witness.
Sunday Services are usually at 10.30am and 6.00pm (4.00pm in winter) alternating Holy Communion with Morning Worship or an All-Age Service. On fifth Sundays we often join together for worship at 10.30am at one of the three churches.
The singing at all services is led by a very able musical director using a variety of musical styles.
The Morning Service is our main service. Afterwards refreshments are served so we can chat together and welcome newcomers.
On the first Sunday in the month we have an Evening Service of Holy Communion. On the 3rd Sunday evening each month we have an informal service (which we call 'Christian Conversation'); this focusses on worship songs but we set aside some times to chat informally to encourage each other spiritually.
The Church is open on Wednesday mornings, from Spring to Winter, between 10.00am and 12.00pm for coffee/tea and chat and to welcome any passing visitors.
We usually use Common Worship liturgy, with songs and Bible readings projected digitally on screens. The music is a mixture of modern and traditional hymns. Readings and prayers are led by members of the congregation.
See elsewhere on this website for more details about our of services and activities
Parking on Sunday Mornings Parking is limited near the Church. We have been asked not to park at The Black Horse on Sunday Mornings. Please consider car sharing and dropping passengers off and then parking elsewhere. Parking is available at the car park in Vicarage Street (opposite Whitwick Fryer), at Whitwick Park, Mason's Pharmacy and the Doctors' Surgery - all in North Street.
