About Us

St Mary's is a Grade II historic parish church, dating from 1215, serving the local community with St Michael's and Holy Trinity, the other churches of Barnes Team Ministry. We are a welcoming congregation, committed to joyful worship, with a lively ministry to young families. Many young parents have stressful lives at work and home. Part of our mission is to be a place of rest, encouragement and spiritual growth.

We are a member of Inclusive Church, a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate. We are outward looking and use our church and its facilities for the enrichment of our community through a wide variety of cultural events and we serve the community by supporting local charities with time and talents as well as engaging with the wider world by our connections in South Sudan and Zimbabwe.

Our church is fortunate to have  the Friends of St Mary Barnes support group who provide additional and much welcome activities eg Barnes Charity Ball and regular Art exhibitions and who play a large part in the organisation of Barnes Music Festival and Barnes Charity Fashion Show.
