About Us

The parish of Newton-by-Castle Acre is tiny, with a population of around 25.

But Newton Church remains active. It has a regular congregation, from Newton itself and the surrounding villages, attracted by its traditional Book of Common Prayer services.

We welcome a steady stream of visitors who come to see our ancient Saxon church, one of the oldest active churches in Norfolk.

And its location next to the main road (and opposite the George & Dragon Pub) has made Newton Church a popular stop-off place - for both travellers and pilgrims - over hundreds of years.
